Web on High storm the B2B Midlands Exhibition 2005
On 18th and 19th October, Web on High took part in the B2B Midlands Exhibition 2005 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. Over 220 exhibitors attended the event from all different business backgrounds.
Our message for the day was, "What's the point of a website if it doesn't bring you business" and throughout the two days we had a huge number of visitors who wanted to know how to build a website that would generate more business.
Our Managing Director , Alan Eager , gave a very well received seminar on what considerations need to be addressed when building a successful website. Alan talked about the principles of good design, understanding your market and how important it is to build websites that will be found and ranked by search engines, including the all important Google ranking and consideration to Google penalties. All these factors add to better customer satisfaction and enquiries.
As a speaker at the event, Alan was in good company. Michael Portillo and Simon Woodroffe (founder of YO! Sushi) were just two of the many speakers who talked about the secrets of their success. Mr Portillo even found some time to come and visit us at our stall and spent some time talking to Alan and others on the stand.
We had a great time and made some excellent contacts from the two days spent at B2B Midlands. It was definitely worth the aching feet and croaky voices suffered by the team who manned the stall! We learnt a lot and we believe we taught people a lot about getting more business from your website through design, marketing and optimisation.
Alan was very pleased with the team's effort over the two days and considered the show as a great success, "A great, coordinated effort with lots of hard work by all. I for one was completely exhausted by the end of Wednesday. The stand looked fabulous and helped to get our message across to a great number of people. We have lots of enquiries to drive the company forward and I look forward to seeing the results. Successful shows like this can only strengthen our standing in the market as a search engine consultant. Lets face it, when Google ranking is such a critical factor in search engine promotion, being a company that has such vast experience in Google consultancy places us in a powerful position to help our clients."
